In the new prEUgovor infographic, take a look at an overview of Serbia’s progress in aligning with the EU visa policy over the past three years.
One of the few measures from the Reform Agenda that Serbia fully implemented by the end of 2024 relates to the harmonisation with the European Union’s visa policy. Serbia was required to revoke the visa-free regime for citizens of three countries within this timeframe, but in December, it did so for four countries - Oman, Mongolia, Qatar, and Kuwait.
Since 2022, Serbia has introduced visas for citizens of 10 out of the 22 countries for which the EU demands harmonisation with its visa policy. Among them are three countries with which Serbia had shared a visa-free regime for over 40 years based on bilateral agreements (Cuba, Tunisia, and Bolivia). However, for nearly half of these 22 countries, the visa-free regime has been in place for less than ten years.
